Walvaroo City scalps Biabou Footbalacl League glory

Walvaroo City outclassed Vultures 3-1 last Sunday June 23, 2024, to take league honours in the Biabou Nine-A-Side Football Competition.

A goal each from Denzel Bascombe, Romario Dennie, and Bishon Richards accounted for Walvaroo City’s tally. Joeneil Swift had the lone response for Vultures.

Walvaroo City claimed the first place trophy and $2,000, with Vultures pocketing $1,500 and a trophy.

Knock Out champions, Cane End, took the third place, as they registered an uncomplicated 6-0 win over Caesar’s Real Estate Mount Greenan in a match that lasted for only one half as Mount Greenan forfeited the second period.

A brace from Figo Pope, and single strikes from Donte Enville; Steven Pierre; Joelando Payne; and Orande James, accounted for Cane End’s goals.

In the awards ceremony that followed the final, Walvaroo City’s Anthony Hazel was adjudged Player of the Final, with Figo Pope named Player of the Competition and top goal scorer for his 20 goals.

The 2024 edition of the Biabou Football Competition saw 16 teams battling for supremacy.

Caesar’s Estate Classic XI champed both the League and Knock Out titles in the 2023 competition.
