Blue Marlins net five titles at St Lucia Swim event

The Blue Marlins Swim Club enjoyed a happy outing at the April 11-14, 2024, Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre’s Invitational Swim Championships in Gros Islet, St Lucia.

The Vincentian club which had representation from 11 swimmers, carted off with five individual titles and just over 500 points. The club was among 22 participating clubs from the region.

Blue Marlins dominated the 6 and Under; as well as the 13-14 years age group, winning both genders.

The pair of Zane Dabriel and Raya Adams, won the Boys 6 and Under-6; and Girls 6 and Under, respectively.

Dabriel registered 48 points copping three gold and the same number of silver medals, while Adams collected two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals,amassing 37 points.

It was a blue print in the 13-14 age group, with Hazen Dabriel pouching the Boys title and Tayeah St Hillaire, the Girls.

In domineering fashion, Hazel Dabriel mined nine gold medals to go with a lone silver, as he compiled 88 individual points.

St Hillaire, meanwhile, put together 73 points. She earned five gold and three silver medals.

The other title to go the Blue Marlins way, was the Boys 11-12, won by Jadon Hamilton, who mirrored Hazen Dabriel by accumulating 88 points. Like a carbon copy, Hamilton earned nine gold and one silver.

Blue Marlins was also represented by Saige Jobe, who contested the Girls 7-8 age group, along with Skylar Byron and Zoe May, who swam in the Girls 9-10, and Saj Caesar in the Boys 9-10).

Belle Adams who contested the Girls 11-12, and Frencille Davis, the Boys 15 and Over, completed the

Blue Marlins 11 member representative team.

Overall, the 11 swimmers earned 509 points; that placed Blue Marlins in seventh position .

Apart from Blue Marlins, St Vincent and the Grenadines was represented by a small contingent from the Black Sands Swim Squad.
