Table Tennis Association serves off 2024 Programme

The 2024 calendar of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Table Tennis Association (SVGTTA), served off last Saturday February, 10, with an Assessment/ Trial Tournament at the association’s main hub, the auditorium of the West St. George Secondary School.

Trumping were Kimoni Shoy; Caleb Howard; Jessica Mc Carter; Leah Cumberbatch; and Damion Dublin.

Shoy came out on top in the Male Under-15 age category. Matching his skills versus Lamont Gregg in the final, Shoy persevered, 3/11, 11/6 ,5/11 ,11/9, 11/6.

Howard grabbed the accolade in the Male Under-19, beating Zayden Cyrus 9/11, 11/7, 11/5, 11/4, in the final.

Also, in the Under-19 age group, but among the females, Mc Carter came through top of the pack in a round robin affair, that also included Leah Cumberbatch, Loukhya Premraj and Shanecia Delpesche . The latter though aborted her participation because of injury.

Cumberbatch took the Senior Females title ahead of Premraj, McCarter and Vedel Charles, in that order.

And, Damion Dublin was the top performer in the Male Seniors, beating Howard in the final 11/13, 11/9, 12/10, 11/6.

The event was an assessment tournament/trials towards the selection of players to attend two events during the months of March and April respectively.

The LQ Invitational will take place from March 8-10 in Grenada, and during the second weekend in April, the St Lucia League competition will be held.
