Eight compete in inaugural San Souci Netball Competition

Eight teams – Chili Combined, San Souci Blazers, Empress Creation Simple Netters, Eagles of South Rivers, Star Girls of Barrouallie, Overland Ballers, Georgetown Shotters and Fancy Hard Knocks, will contest honours in the inaugural Caesar’s Real Estate San Souci Netball Competition.

Opened last Sunday, January 14, at the newly-built San Souci Hard Court, the competition began in earnest with a double header.

Chili Combined edged past San Souci Blazers 22-18, and Empress Creation Simple Netters dominated Eagles of South Rivers, beating them, 39-4.

As a warm-up, the Owia Police Youth Club won from San Souci Juniors 16-3 in an Exhibition match.

Sunday’s Opening Ceremony heard addresses from Minister of Sports, Frederick Stephenson, and Parliament Representative for South Central Windward Constituency, Saboto Caesar.

An attractive cash prize of $1500 awaits the winner of the competition. Matches are set for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
