Yellow Team trump Sweaterz Christmas Day Football title

For the next 12 months, members of the Yellow Team will have the bragging rights, after copping the Sweaterz Christmas Day Five-A-Side Football title.

Giovani Bascombe, with a first half strike landed the Yellow Team the title at the expense of White, last Monday, December 25, at the competition venue, at the Wilf Slack Nets, Arnos Vale Playing Field.

Yellow previously lost to White 1-3, in the round robin segment of the competition. But Yellow did it when it mattered most in the final. It was White’s only loss.

Green Team took third place , also by a one- nil margin over Black, who finished the competition without a win.

The 2023 edition returned to the original formal, after an experiment was made in 2022, to have teams made up of youngsters and older boys.

When the fun competition was inaugurated in 2020, it consisted of four teams (randomly chosen) representing four colours.

Red Team were the first winners.
