Five players return to SVG Under-15 Cricket team

Five experienced players will be among the St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) squad when the Winlott Inc. Under-15 Cricket Super-50 tournament opens here today, December 12 in SVG.

The quintet includes captain Jordon Charles, Cody Slater, Delroy Tittle, Zach Thomas and Ahmad Boyea. The new faces on the team are Alston Bobb Jr (Vice-Captain), Lason Hoyte, Eddon Baptiste, Juarez Baptiste, Tyrese Hackshaw, Mattanish Stapleton, Javon Johnny, Shane Roberts and Alexander Jordan.  Apart from the 13, selectors have named four reserves – Chrisriano Adams, Zade Da Souza, Ronel Lavia and Lee- J Phillips.

Bertram Stapleton is the team’s Head Coach, with William Edwards – Assistant Coach and Samuel Holder – Manager.

St Vincent and the Grenadines opens their campaign today versus Dominica at Park Hill, while defending champions – St Lucia engages Grenada at Cumberland.

Then on Wednesday, December 13, also at Park Hill, St Vincent and the Grenadines entertains St Lucia and Grenada meets Dominica at the Cumberland venue.

The preliminary round concludes on Friday, December 15, with the host country meeting Grenada at Park Hill, while St Lucia takes on Dominica at Cumberland.

Following the preliminary round, the two top teams will meet in the final on Sunday, December 17 at Park Hill, with the other two units, competing for the minor places at Cumberland.

Matches are set to bowl off at 9:30am on all days.

St Lucia won the 2022 edition played in their country, with St Vincent and the Grenadines docking second, Dominica – third and Grenada- fourth.
