Out Ah Trouble makes it four-straight in Greiggs softball

Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble has made it four times in a row as champions of the Caesar’s Real Estate Nar Fren Den Greiggs T/20 Softball Cricket competition.

Following up on titles won in 2018, 2019 and 2022, Out Ah Trouble last Sunday, December 3 formalized the fourth, with a comfortable four-wicket win over Owia Strikers.

Out Ah Trouble’s batters lit up the Greiggs Central Playing Field, as they belted six after six, successfully erasing the 142 made by Owia Strikers.

Dillon Woodley

Stein Joseph struck six sixes and a four, in his 42 not out, as Out Ah Trouble replied with 143/6 from 12.2 overs.

Also contributing, were Sunil Ambris – 25 and Javid Harry- 23.

Bowling for Owia Strikers, the trio of Shamic Roberts, Denson Hoyte and Kerwin Williams, all had two wickets to their names.

Earlier in the match, Shamic Roberts with 46 and Denson Hoyte, navigated Owia Strikers to 142/8 from their 20 overs.

Three bowlers – Asif Hooper, Wesrick Strough and Travis Cumberbatch took two wickets each.

In the first half of the match, Owia Strikers had posted 142/8 from their 20 overs. Shamic Roberts top scored with 46 and Denson Hoyte contributed 34.

Asif Hooper, Wesrick Strough and Travis Cumberbatch, each took two wickets.

The two finalists earned the right to play for the title, courtesy wins the previous day, when Out Ah Trouble overcame RSVG Police, likewise Owia Strikers beat AIA Reload.

Denson Hoyte

RSVG Police, last year’s losing finalist went on to defeat AIA Reload in the third place play off, that preceded the final.

AIA Reload though had the pleasure of being adjudged the Best Dressed Team on show.

Also rewarded was Dillon Woodley of Hard Hitters, who claimed the Best Wicketkeeper accolade, with Owia Strikers’ Denson Hoyte, named Player of the series. To his credit, Hoyte scored 288 runs and 18 wickets. His tally of wickets, also made him the leading wicket taker.

Meanwhile, Davian Barnum, who in 2022 was the Player of the Series, this time around copped the most runs award for his 297 runs.

And, Fairbaine United’s Javid Liverpool got the award for taking the best catch.
