Spencer making best of opportunity

Head Coach of the Vincy  Table Tennis Foundation – Romano Spencer is currently in Germany on a one-month attachment at a High-Performance Centre there.

Spencer, who is on an Olympic Solidarity Scholarship for Coaches’ Initiative, will be exposed to high class training, and plans to maximise the outing.

“As a Table Tennis coach, to be exposed to a different framework of coaching education and endeavour to incorporate what I gain from this exposure to develop Table Tennis in St Vincent and the Grenadines at that competitive level”, Spencer told SEARCHLIGHT.

Lauding the exposure, Spencer highlighted, “ The fact that the centre in Germany trains athletes from across the world of all age groups and not gender specific, I will be able to gauge what is needed for our athletes to get better”.

Spencer, who is also the Head Coach of the Spencer’s Table Tennis Academy, welcomed the idea of having hands on experience.

“ I welcome the opportunity to be physically on board with the training sessions, getting hands on instructions from the head coach of the centre, can only augur well for my overall development as a coach”, Spencer concluded.
