NLSCO recognizes sporting stand outs

The North Leeward Sports and Cultural Organisation (NLSCO) last Thursday, October 26 paid homage to the standout sportsmen and women who excelled during the last calendar year.

Staged at the Petit Bordel Secondary School’s hard court, rewards were presented for performances in Cricket, Netball, Athletics, Football, Basketball, Table Tennis as well as the overall Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year.

Taking the Junior Male Player of the Year award was Watson Seaton, with Schey Ann Gaymes – the Junior Female Player of the Year.

Kirtney Franklyn was named the Senior Male Cricketer of the Year and Shantel Mc Kie, the Senior Female Cricketer of the Year.

In the discipline of Netball, the title of Junior Netballer of the Year went to Shakayra Bowens, with Shanique Nimblett, the Senior recipient.

Taking the Junior Male Athlete of the Year accolade was AJ Delpesche; Junior Female Athlete of the Year- Zekisha Kelly; Senior Male Athlete of the Year – Verrol Sam and Senior Female Athlete of the Year- Teia Laborde.

Meanwhile, Ceon Nash was the Junior Male Footballer of the Year, Keshorna George- Junior Female Footballer of the Year; Gavin Browne- Senior Male Senior Footballer of the Year and Areka Hooper- Senior Female Footballer of the Year.

Kirtney Franklyn secured the Junior Basketballer of the Year title and Oswald Hooper- the Senior recipient.

In Table Tennis, Kimoni Shoy won the Male Junior Player of the Year; Mikhail Harry, J Quan St Hill pouched the Senior Male Table Tennis of the Year award and the Senior Female Player- Shanecia Delpesche.

And the versatile and multi- talented Kirtney Franklyn was adjudged Sportsman of the Year and Areka Hooper- Sportswoman of the Year.
