Five more matches ticked off in TBPO Softball competition

Another five matches were played on the weekend of September 30 and October 1, 2023, in the National Lotteries Authority TBPO T/20 Softball Cricket competition at the Dauphine Playing Field.

On Saturday, Valley Boys beat Gomea Bombers by five wickets in a 12-over affair because of a late start.

Gomea Bombers made 91. 5 in 12 overs. T’Shaka Patterson made 28 runs. Romel Jack got 3 wickets for 7 runs, bowling for Valley Boys, who replied with 94/5 from 11.4 overs. Jolana Neil made 36 not out and Kenroy Wilson 34. Bowling for Gomea Bombers, Vernardo Primus got 3/10 and Saqlin Williams 2/16.

In match number two on Saturday, Kombat Warriors outplayed Coreas Distribution Older Boys by 10 wickets, in a match reduced to 15 overs.

Older Boys made 86/ 6 in 15 overs; Rohan King 30 not out and Mac Simmons 26. Romano Peters 2/15 for Kombat Warriors, who then responded with 96 without loss. Kamari Browne 54 not out, and Roger Gibson 22 not out.

In Sunday’s first match, the trend of late starts and reduced overs continued. In a 12-over affair, Dr Thomas Injectors beat Fairbaine United by three wickets.

Fairbaine United made 105/ 7 in 12 overs. Darie Peters 33 and Zavron Bobb 22; Javar Cain 3 /17 and Kymo Browne 2/18, were Injectors’ most successful bowlers. Dwayne Williams struck 68 to lead Injectors to 106/7 from 9.1 overs. Rokeem Roberts had the consolation of taking 4/24 for Fairbaine United.

Then, ‘Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble’ registered an eight-wicket win over Advent United.

Advent United – 56 all out in 18.2 overs, as Jaiden Henry topscored with 19.

Bowling for Out ah Trouble, Kenron Williams and Davian Barnum both took 2/8, Mikel Mapp 2 / 9, and Deron Strough 2/ 13.

Out Ah Trouble scored 57/2 in 5.3 overs. Renrick Williams 20, Stein Joseph 17 not out. Bowling for Advent United, Dennis James 2/ 23.

And, Bank of SVG All Stars defeated Simple Boys by five wickets. Simple Boys – 102 all out in 19.4 overs. Danroy Hazel 23 not out, Osborne Franklyn 22, Nicos Davis 17.

Courtney Mc Dowald 2/10, Kellique Samuel 2/ 15, Desmond Bramble and Brenton Arrindell 2/ 28 each.

All Stars in reply made 107/ 5 in 19.5 overs. Kody Horne 32, Courtney Mc Dowald 25 not out, Lenroy Danzel 21. Travis Cumberbatch 2 /21, Eldon Morris 2/ 30, were Simple Boys’ most successful bowlers.
