Eleven selected for ECVA Women’s U-23 Tournament

Eleven players have been selected to represent St Vincent and the Grenadines at the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Under- 23 Women’s Tournament, slated for Massacre Indoor Facility, Dominica, from September 20 to 24.

Leading the team is Shanadia Sylvester with Jannique De Bique, the Vice- Captain.

Completing the selectees are Ziel Cain, Cammara Edwards, Veronique Matthews, Saquanna Duncan, Ariella Browne, Keyara Gaymes, Zemolicia Grant, Nathalia Matthews and Gabriella Awad.

Eardley Martin is the team’s coach and manager.

St Vincent and the Grenadines is drawn in Group A, alongside St Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, St Maarten and Saba.

In Group A are the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Dominica and Grenada.

Following the preliminary round, the two top teams from each group will advance to the semi- finals, with the winner of Group B facing the second place – Group A, and the Group A winner taking on the Group B second place.

The winners of the semi finals meet in the final while the losers play for the third and fourth spots.

Meanwhile, the other teams will pair off for the minor places.
