Je Belle wins National Premier Division Football title

The coffers of the Je Belle Football Club will be upped by $25,000 after they kicked their way to the 2022/2023 Premier Division title of the National Club Championships.

Je Belle did what they had to do on Saturday, April 15, at the Chili Playing Field, defeating Largo Height 3-1 to secure the top spot.

Accounting for Je Belle’s goals were Terrason Joseph, Steven Pierre and Kamal Griffith- each scoring one. Kareem Davis made the lone reply for Largo Height.

The newly installed champions thus ended on 31 points. Second place was North Leeward Predators who finished with 30 points.

In third place was Layou on 27 points, the same as fourth place and dethroned champions Guardian General Hope International, but with a better goal differential.

Avenues United ended in fifth position with 25 points, while Awesome on 20 points, was sixth.

In seventh place was Sion Hill, 17 points; a better goal differential placed them above BESCO Pastures, who also had 17 points.

And, at the foot of the nine club table was Largo Height on 8 points, hence they will be relegated to the First Division in the next championships.

Destined for the Premiership Division in the 2023/2024 edition are SV United and Camdonia-Chelsea, as Premier Division is restored to 10 clubs.
