Kombat Warriors win big in Top Belair softball cricket

KOMBATWARRIORS outplayed Sunset Strikers by 122 runs in the highlight match of last weekend’s fixtures of the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Softball Cricket competition.

Batting first last Sunday at the Dauphine Playing Field, Kombat Warriors posted 189/4 from 17 overs in a the match that has a late start.

Lesroy Richards and Marlon Farrell led the batting with 41 each, while Oswald Soleyn scored 33 not, and Romano Pierre 29 not out. Bowling for Sunset Strikers, Hendrick Patterson took 2 for 27.

Sunset Strikers replied with 67/8 from their 17 overs; Uroy Farrell made 21.

Dwayne Williams was the pick of Kombat Warriors’ bowling, taking 3 for 11 and Kamal Jackson 2 for 9.

In Sunday’s second match, Curtis King Toppers saw off Coreas Distribution Older Boys by seven wickets .

Older Boys managed 76 all out from 14 overs, as their batters were undone by the bowling of Everton Durant who scalped 2 for 4 and Darren Henry 2 for 2.5.

Toppers in replied with 77/3 from 8.4 overs. Terrance Patterson made 20 not out. For Older Boys, Everad Glasgow had 2/24.

Meanwhile, Cole Block & Trucking Gomea Bombers beat Fairbain United by 39 runs, in Sunday’s final match.

Gomea Bombers scored 142 all out from 15.4 overs. Ovando O’ Brian ,46 and Vernardo Primus, 21.

For Fairbain United, Adolph Adams had 3 for 28, Akrol Walker 3 for 29 and Damian James 3 for 34.

Fairbain United replied with 103/9 from their 20 overs, as Christian Williams picked up 3 for 21 and Raymond Sayers 2 for 12.

The previous day, Saturday there were wins for H & H Oral Care Clinchers and Hard Hitters.

In the first match, which was a 15 over affair because of a late start, Clinchers had a two wicket win over Glen United.

Marcus Hackshaw top scored with 28, in Glen United’s total of 106/9 from their 15 overs.

For Clinchers, J’Var Cain scalped 3 for 12; Hyron Shallow 2 for 8 and Leon Quashie 2 for 26.

Clinchers made 107/8 from 18 overs.Wayne Garraway grabbed 4 for 11 and Ricky King 2 for 20.

And, Hard Hitters came away with a 17 run win over Combine Rangers. Hard Hitters posted 125/7 from 15 overs. Anthonio Barker made 47. Sony Barker took 3 for 24. Combine Rangers replied with 108/8 from 15 overs. Tilron Harry made 43.

Bowling for Hard Hitters, Jemmoth Brackin took 2 for 9; Gideon Deweth 2 for 15 and Shawn Williams had 2 for 21.
