Greiggs Softball Cricket Competition off in earnest

Three matches were played last Sunday, September 11, as the 2022 Caesar’s Real Estate, Hairoun Beer, Nar Fren Dem Greiggs T20 Softball Cricket Tournament began in earnest at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.

First up, Clinchers beat Kombat Warriors by 20 runs.

Clinchers – 112 all out, in 18.2 overs, Leon Quashie – 60. Donaldson Harry took 4 for 10.

Kombat Warriors – 92 all out in 13.5 overs. Leading the way was Kamari Browne with 33, while Rokiem Lavia took 4 for 12, bowling for Clinchers.

Caesar’s Real Estate Nar Fren Dem then saw off Glen United by seven wickets.

Glen United – 96 all out from 13.3 overs. Marcus Hackshaw, 47. Wayne Garraway took 3 for 18.

Nar Fren Dem – 100 for 3 from 7.3 overs. Ozande Baptiste topscored with 40 and Glendon James scored 32 not out.

And, Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble Family defeated Bank of SVG All Stars by 121 runs.

Out Ah Trouble Family – 177 all out from 19.1 overs. Stein Joseph – 56 and Davian Barnum – 51 not out. Bowling for All Stars – Newborn Joseph took 5 for 42.

In reply, All Stars – 56 all out in 9 overs. Newborn Joseph – 20. Tracis Cumberbatch – 5 for 19 and Davian Barnum – 4 for 29.

Sixteen teams, spread in four zones, are contesting the tournament.

Zone One comprises CMT Out Ah Trouble Family, Hard Hitters, Bank of SVG All Stars  and Fairban United, while in Zone Two are Israel Bruce Smashers INC, Kombat Warriors, Clinchers and Predators.

Making up Zone Three are RSVG Police, Caesar’s Real Estate Nar Fren Dem, Glen United and Sugar Boys, and in Zone Four are Sion Hill Tallawahs, Owia, Dr. Thomas Injectors and Rasfarco.
