Track and Field clubs, schools, community organisations and one national sports association have been presented with training equipment, with Team Athletics SVG, the benefactor.
Among the equipment distributed are 20 flights of four different sizes of hurdles, baseballs, children’s javelin and discus, agility ladders and cones.
As such, all clubs under the aegis of Team Athletics SVG were recipients, likewise groupings in North Leeward, Central Leeward, Kingstown Mesopotamia, Georgetown, and north of the Rabacca Dry River.
Also, in the mix were selected schools, the Layou Government, Barrouallie Anglican, Barrouallie Government, Buccament Secondary, Questelles Government, Du Bois Government, the CW Prescod Primary School, as well as the schools that participated in the recently launched Kids In Athletics (KIA) programme.
And, receiving hurdles and medicine balls to prop up their preparations of national teams, was the St Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association.
Chester Morgan , Technical Director of Team Athletics SVG, told SEARCHLIGHT that his organisation was able to make the donations from funding gained from the KIA project which was launched earlier this year.
