Windwards announces two cricket squads

THE SELECTION committee of the Windward Islands Cricket Board, at the end of the 2022 Winlott Windward Islands Under- 19 cricket tournament, announced the 14-man squad to compete in the 2022 Cricket West Indies Regional Under-19 cricket tournament scheduled to be held in St Vincent and the Grenadines August 7 – 28, 2022.

Making the squad are three Vincentian youth cricketers in Ethan Gibson, Luke Wilson and Solomon Bascombe.

Squad members from Dominica are Stephen Pascal (vice-captain) and Edmund Morancie. The selectees from Grenada are Jerel Jeremiah, Divonie Joseph, Kirt Murray, Kelshon Andrew, and Devin Tyson; while the selectees from Saint Lucia are Ackeem Auguste (captain), Tarrique Edward, Noel Leo, and Kevin Gassie.

The reserves are Amari Venner and Sky Lafeuille from Saint Lucia, Kervyn Gangadeen from Grenada, and Jelani Joseph from Dominica. The coach is Mervin Thomas with Rondel Baptiste as manager.

Meanwhile selectors have also announced the Windward Islands Under-17 cricket squad that will compete in the 2022 Cricket West Indies Under-17, scheduled to be held in Trinidad and Tobago July 17 – 28, 2022.

The full squad is Solomon Bascombe, Kevin Gassie, Devin Tyson, Shauwnil Edwards, Jerlani Joseph, Luke Wilson, Divonie Joseph, Reshawn Lewis, Kirkson Murray, Tarrique Edwards, Edmund Morancie, Mahid Lambert, Jerel Jeremiah, and Stephan Pascal (captain).

The reserves are Jahson Vidal, Kodi Grant, Kirt Murray, and Lluvio Charles.
