National Under-23 netball team preparing for 2022 Caribbean Games

The St Vincent and the Grenadines national Under-23 netball team continues to prepare for the 2022 Caribbean Games scheduled to be held in Guadeloupe from June 29 to July 3, 2022.

The squad is being managed by Sylvorn Harry, who told SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday that, “The players have responded enthusiastically to the call from management after a long break away from netball due to Covid and volcanic eruptions.”

She said she was pleased with the progress made, pointing out that, “they have been exhibiting steady progression in the development of their interactive skills, especially in their communication with their peers, and with the plays made by team members while on the court.”

In February the national senior team won the 2022 OECS / ECCB International Netball Series in Dominica, and while Harry is confident that this big win will help to motivate the Under-23 squad to do their best to succeed she acknowledged that they have some very big shoes to fill.

However, discipline is not one of the challenges that she has to deal with.

“I believe the netballers know me, they know what I stand for, what I will tolerate and what I would not. Hence the netballers have basically aligned to expectations,” Harry said.
