Triple jumper with Vincentian roots wins at Penn Relays

Leann Nicholas, the daughter of Vincentian, Learie Nicholas, originally from Sion Hill and Frenches won the college’s division of the women’s triple jump, last Friday, April 29 at Franklin Field, Philadelphia, at the famed Penn Relays after a two- year absence.

The 18 year old Nicholas in her second jump on the day, leapt 12.87m, to earn the title. This distance proved her personal best, as well as making the standard for the World Athletics Junior Championships set for Cali, Colombia this August.

Nicholas is a freshman at the Al.
