Team Athletics SVG names the 2022 Carifta Squad

THE LOCAL ATHLETICS Association (Team Athletics SVG), has released the names of its 13 member athletics squad to represent St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), at the 2022 Carifta Games to be held in Jamaica, from April 16-18.

In a release, Team Athletics SVG said the athletes were confirmed from trials held here last weekend.

In the Under 17 category Shonte Matthias will compete in the girls 100m and 200m. The male athletes are: Keo Davis who will compete in the 200m; Kodi Grant in the Long Jump; Jahieme Harry in the 400m and Zacri Sobers in the 400m.

A.J. Delpesche will also travel to make up a 4×400 relay team.

In the Under 20 age group, Grenisha Thomas will be in the girls 400m Hurdles, and the boys events will see Kyle Lawrence in the 100m and 200m, and Devonric Mac in the 200m. They will join athletes already based in Jamaica who have also made qualifying standards, These athletes are: Amal Glasgow who will compete in the 400m, Uroy Ryan Ryan in the Long and High Jump, Verrol Sam in the High Jump and Pole Vault, and Nellie Ambriton in the 800m.
