Miles Bascombe named WICB’s Technical Director

Vincentian Miles Bascombe has been appointed as the Technical Director for the Windwards Islands Cricket Board(WICB).
The new role of Technical Director was one of many cricket and governance change revealed after the WICB officials held a retreat late last month in St Lucia.

Among Bascombe’s responsibilities is developing a comprehensive pathway for cricketers in the four islands, from junior to senior. In addition, Bascombe will have the four Operations Managers/ Development Officers report to him on cricket development matters. The respective Operations Managers/ Development Officers are yet to be made public.

Before this new appointment, Bascombe was the Technical Advisor to the WICB and according to reports from the WICB, he has been working closely with the Windward Islands Volcanoes franchise’s head coach, with an aim “to modernize the coaching program for contracted players”.

A former St Vincent and the Grenadines, Windward Islands and Combined Campuses and Colleges batter, Bascombe also represented the West Indies in a single T/20 International in 2011.

A certified Cricket West Indies coach, Bascombe holds a BSc in Electronics and MSc in e-Commerce from the University of the West Indies.
