Football affiliates benefit from SVGFF/ FIFA initiative

Affiliates of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation on Monday, began receiving donations of footballs, ball bags, bibs, polo shirts, cones and face masks.

The donations are part of a FIFA response mechanism and support for the SVGFF toward the resumption of football in the post eruption phase.

A release from the SVGFF states: “We recognize that the disruptive nature of the eruptions of La Soufriere volcano would have presented multiple challenges for our affiliates seeking to resume normalcy to footballing activities, especially those residents in the Red and Orange zones… The contributions will also be made available to facilitate footballing activities in designated Green zone areas that house evacuees relocated from the danger zones when the clearance is given by the local health authorities”.

The cost of the equipment which will benefit 58 affiliates has been put in excess of, EC$270 000.
