Mc Coy in WI World Cup T/20 team

VINCENTIAN OBED MC COY has been named in the West Indies T/20 team for the ICC World Cup set for United Arab Emirates and Oman, from October 17 to November 14.

Mc Coy, a left-arm fast bowler, has played 12 T/20 internationals for the West Indies, taking 19 wickets with a best of 4 for 22. The 24-year-old Mc Coy is among 15 making the final cut.

The Kieron Pollard-led team, also includes Nicholas Pooran (vice- captain), Fabian Allen, Dwayne Bravo, Roston Chase, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Evin Lewis, Ravi Rampaul, Andre Russell, Lendl Simmons, Oshane Thomas and Hayden Walsh Jr. Along with the 15 players, selectors have named another four as travelling reserves.

The quartet of reserves are Jason Holder, Sheldon Cottrell, Darren Bravo and Akeal Hosein.

The West Indies are in Group One of the Super 12s, alongside Australia, England, South Africa, as well as the top team of Group A and the second unit from Group B of the qualifiers.

West Indies are the defending champions, having won the last tournament in 2016.
