Six athletes have been selected by Team Athletics SVG to compete at this year’s North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association NACAC Under-18 and Under-23 championships, set for San Jose, Costa Rica, from July 9 to 11.
The team comprises three males and three females. The males selected are Uroy Ryan, who will compete in the Under-18 long jump; Kyle Lawrence – Under-23 100m and Handal Roban, the Under-23 800m.
The females are Shafiqua Maloney, who will race in the Under-23 800m; Tamara Woodley, the Under-23 400m and Mikeisha Welcome, the Under-23 triple jump.
Lawrence is the lone home-based athlete. Ryan and Roban are at Jamaica College; Welcome is at the University of Oklahoma, while Woodley attends the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley and Maloney just graduated from the University of Arkansas.
