GOMEA BOMBERS’ Terrance Patterson placed his name in the century column, when the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation softball cticket competition for 2020, going last weekend at the Dauphine Playing Field.
Patterson took 47 balls to smash 103 not out, as Gomea Bombers hammered 234 for 4 from their 20 overs againts Ranger United on Sunday. Bernard Bushay scored 32 and Ovando O’Brien, 29, to add to the carnage Bowling for Rangers United, Dmarley Roberts took 2 for 31.
In response, Rangers United were dismissed for 84 in 18 overs. Romel Ollivierre sccored 18.
Raymond Sayers and Terrance Baptiste snared 3 for 15 each and Kenton Mc Fee, 2 for 13.
Also on Sunday, Dr Thomas Injectors clinical disposed of the once potent CGM Gallagher Novice by 34 runs.
Injectors batted first and made 126 for 9 in 20 overs, as Javon Nero topscored with 22 not out.
For Novice, Carlton Baptiste scalped 3 for 14 and Norlan Williams, 2 for 27.
Novice, though, fell for 92 from 17 overs, with Norlan Williams scoring 23.
Winston Holder grabbed 3 for 15, Karrano Mc Kie, 2 for 8 and Wendell Corridon, 2 for 15.
Sunday’s other match saw Sion Hill Tallawahs beat Sunset Strikers by eight wickets.
Batting first, Sunset Strikers made 111 for 7 from 15 overs because of a late start.
Oswald Soleyn topscored with 35. Denson Hoyte had 2 for 2 and Alex Roberts, 2 for 10.
Tallawahs reached 112 for 2 from 11.5 overs. Shamic Roberts scored 29 not out, Marlon Baptiste, 26 not out and Denson Hoyte, 24.
In the opening salvo on Saturday, Hard Hitters recorded an 80-run win over Fairbaine Chennai Strikers.
Hard Hitters posted 162 all out from 19.1 overs. Niko Robinson led with 40 and Collin Williams, 36.
Bowling for Fairbane Chennai Strikers, Jimmy Providence had 3 for 15, Darie Peters, 3 for 20, Kegan Cordice, 2 for 27.
Fairbaine Chennai Strikers’ reply was 82 for 8 in 20 overs, as Kerwin Williams snapped 4 for 22.
Sixteen teams are contesting for honours in this year’s competition.
