Another five matches decided in TBPO softball cricket weekend

Another five matches were contested last weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation 20/20 softball cricket competition at the Dauphine Playing Field.

Triumphant were New Level, Bank of SVG All Stars, Fairbaine United Spartans, Challengers and Owia Young Strikers.

New Level beat Dauphine United by 57 runs.

New Level posted 137 all out from 14.5 overs. Rawdon Bentick struck 76 and Kalbert Springer, 23.

Mondale Questelles took 3 for 10, Kervin Grecia, 3 for 21 and Damian Chance, 2 for 14, bowling for Dauphine United.

In reply, Dauphine United totalled 80 all out in 14.4 overs.

Kurthbert Springer and Ronald Scott took 2 for 8, respectively, while Courtney Joyette captured 2 for 15 and Rawdon Bentick, 2 for 21, bowling New Level to victory.

In Saturday’s other match, Bank of SVG All Stars outlasted Israel Bruce Law Chambers Smashers by five runs in a 17-over affair.

All Stars scored 120 for 7 in 17 overs. Asquith Mapp scored 57. Bowling for Smashers, Linton Peters grabbed 3 for 18.

Smashers’ response was 115 for 9 in 17 overs. St Clair Dickson hit 35 and Glenford Woodley, 20.

Glenroy Dasent, who took 4 for 22 and Desmond Bramble, 2 for 29, were the pick of the All Stars’ bowling.

In Sunday’s first match, Fairbaine United Spartans defeated Nice Radio Clinchers by four wickets.

Clinchers’ total, batting first, was 82 all out in 17.2 overs. Danroy Fergus led with 21.

Rokeem Roberts scalped 4 for 10 and Joel Browne, 2 for 19, bowling for Fairbaine United Spartans.

Fairbane United Spartans reached 83 for 6 in 14.3 overs, with Glenson Guy scoring 40.

Romano Pierre took 2 for 19 and Rajiv Roberts, 2 for 25, bowling for Clinchers.

Then, Challengers won from Gomea Bombers by 82 runs.

Challengers posted 188 for 9 in 20 overs. Javil Harry scored 54 and Britnol Scott, 31.

Bowling for Gomea Bombers, Kenton Mc Fee took 3 for 19 and Andy Bacchus, 3 for 22.

Gomea Bombers replied with 106 all out in 20 overs. Ovando O ‘Brian scored 23 and Omar Woods, 20.

Otis Hector took 3 for 25 and Kerwyne Browne, 2 for 19.

And, Owia Young Strikers beat Sion Hill Tallawahs by two wickets, as the two played for 15 overs because of a late start.

Sion Hill Tallawahs got to 93 for 9 in 15 overs, with Danwayne Baptiste scoring 21.

Arnos Lorraine, who took 3 for 15, Draver Browne, 2 for 18 and Desroy Lavia, 2 for 30, led Owia Young Strikers’ bowling.

Rohan Lavia hit 21 not out, as Owia Young Strikers responded with 95 for 8 from 14.1 overs.

Shanley Lavia, who claimed 2 for 3 and Shamic Roberts, 2 for 12, were Sion Hill Tallawahs most successful bowlers.
