KFC West St George T20 Primary Schools Cricket Competition bowls off

The KFC West St George Primary Schools T20 Cricket Competition bowled off on Saturday, March 23, at the Belair Playing Field.

After hearing addresses from the representatives of KFC, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association and Minister of Sports Cecil McKie, the five participating schools were engaged in a knock-out competition. BDO Belair Government School defeated Coreas Distributions Ltd Gomea Methodist School by 8 wickets in the finals to win the first trophy of the 2019 season.

In the League component, which commenced on Sunday, March 24, BDO Belair Government School defeated Coreas Distributions Ltd Gomea Methodist School by two wickets in a keenly contested match. Gomea took first strike in the match which was reduced to 17 overs because of rain. They scored 120 for 6 wickets, thanks to a top score of 54 by Mbeki King and a healthy contribution of 45 extras.

Jayden Henry took 4 for 21, bowling for Belair. At their turn at the crease, BDO Belair achieved the target off 15.3 overs, losing eight wickets in doing so. Richard James scored 24, while extras contributed 43. Luke Browne and Jeremy Martin took two wickets each bowling for Gomea.

Four Matches will be played this weekend. On Saturday, March 30, Log Enterprise Ltd. Dorsetshire Hill Government School will play Allan’s Bakery Sion Hill Government School at Dorsetshire Hill Playing Field and Coreas Distributions Ltd. Gomea Methodist School will play KPMG Belmont Government School at the Belair Playing Field.

On Sunday, March 31, Log Enterpries Dorsetshire Hill Government will play BDO Belair Government at the Dorsetshire Hill Playing Field, while Coreas Distributions Ltd. Gomea Methodist will play Allan Bakery Sion Hill Government School at Belair. All matches start at 1 p.m.
