TBPO softball competition host another full weekend

New Level, Country Meet Town Outa Trouble, Sion Hill Tallawahs, Challengers and Fairbaine United Spartans, ticked the winners’ column, when the National Lotteries Authority TBPO 20/20 softball cricket competition hosted five matches on the weekend at the Dauphine Playing Field.

On Saturday, New Level won from Bank of SVG All Stars by 7 runs.

In a match reduced to 15 overs because of a late start, New Level was dismissed for 70 in 14 overs, with Ronald Scott scoring 21.

Desmond Bramble, with 2 for 16, was All Stars’ most successful bowler.

All Stars responded with 63 all out in 13.2 overs. Desmond Bramble scored 20 not out Bowling for New Level, Ronald Scott took 3 for 16, Kesworth Lewis, 2 for 9 and Felix Baptiste, 2 for 14.
Then Outa Trouble gained a seven-wicket win over Clinchers, in a 17-over affair.

Clinchers scored 73 all out in 13.3 overs. Okeiph Andrews hit 33.

For Outa Trouble, Kenron Williams took 2 for 8. In reply, Outa Trouble scored 74 for 3 in 7.4 overs.

Davian Barnum scored 30 not out and Kesrick Strough, 20.

Bowling for Clinchers, Donaldson Harry had 2 for 24.

Sunday’s first match, reduced to 15 overs because of a late start, resulted in a six-wicket triumph for Sion Hill Tallawahs over Sunset Strikers.

Sunset Strikers posted 83 for 9 from their 15 overs, with Leo Williams scoring 17 not out.

Bowling for Tallawahs, Shamic Roberts took 3 for 25, Omari Sutherland, 2 for 4 and Trevin Baptiste, 2 for 14.

Tallawahs responded with 84 for 4 in 9.4 overs. Denson Hoyte scored 15 and Raji Questeslles took 2 wickets for 20 runs.

In the mid-day match reduced to 18 overs, Challengers beat Dr Thomas Injectors by 4 wickets.

Injectors batted first and scored 79 all out in 13.4 overs. Javon Nero posted 37, and Alex Jessop snared 3 for 22 and Kerwyn Browne, 2 for 6.

Challengers replied with 80 for 6 in 16.4 overs. Britnol Scott scored 14.

Bowling for Injectors, Damian Allen took 2 for 9 and Wendell Corridon, 2 for 15.

And, Fairbaine United Spartans won by 6 wickets from Computec Older Boys.

Reduce to 15 overs because of a late start, Older Boys posted 74 all out in 14.4 overs.

Rohan King topscored with 20, while for Fairbaine, Damian James grabbed 3 for 1, Rokeem Roberts, 3 for 3 and Joel Browne, 2 for 13.

Fairbaine replied with 76 for 4 in 8.3 overs. Rokeem Roberts struck 25.

Nathaniel Adams’ 2 for 28, was Older Boys’ best bowling figures.
