Massy Stores earn double rewards in firms/ industrial netball opening

The inclement weather experienced last Wednesday, did not prevent the St Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association from officially commencing the 2018 firms and industrial netball tournament, at the Kingstown Netball Centre at New Montrose.

Neither did the adverse conditions obstruct Massy Stores from being adjudged the best dressed team and the team with the best banner. 

Heavy rains had forced organisers to abandon the usual march past of teams, but an abbreviated opening ceremony was held at the pavilion of the venue.

Also shelved last Wednesday, was the opening fixture between the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture and RSVG Police. 

Other than Massey Stores, , RSVG Police, Demerara Future Builders and AIA Strikers, are seeking honours in the tournament.

Four time champions NBC Radio 705 and last year’s champion, Teachers, are among the teams that have opted out of this year’s tournament.

When the tournament was staged in 2017, nine teams contested.
