Simple Boyz down Novice in Greiggs men’s 20/20

Long-time foes of softball cricket, Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz and CGM Gallagher Novice, had another bout last Sunday at the Greiggs Central Playing Field, in the Hairoun/ FLOW/ Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem men’s 20/20 softball cricket competition.

Novice batted first and was dismissed for 111 in 20 overs, with Elton Williams leading the way with 31.

Bowling for Simple Boyz, Asborne Franklyn had 3 for 5 and Stein Joseph, 3 for 15.

Stein Joseph then guided Simple Boyz’ response with 37 not out, to guide his team to 114 for 3 in 18 overs.

Nicos Davis contributed 21 not out, while Kenneth Lewis picked up 2 for 32.

Simple Boyz won by seven wickets.

Joining Simple Boyz in triumph in Sunday’s other fixtures, were Street Fighters and Owia Young Strikers.

Street Fighter disposed of LOG Enterprise Supreme Strikers by eight wickets.

Supreme Strikers’ had a modest total of 76 all out in 16.4 overs, with Amall Francis’ 29 being the topscore.

Antonio Barker was the main destroyer of Supreme Strikers’ innings, taking 4 for 16.

Street Fighters took nine overs to get to 78 for 2. Cedrick Thomas made 41 not out.

And, Owia Young Strikers had a nine-wicket win over Extreme Strikers.

Nicholas Soleyn made 31, as Extreme Strikers crumbled for 79 from 17.2 overs.

Bowling for Owia Young Strikers, Marcus Hackshaw scalped 3 for 1.

Hyron Shallow, with 30 not out, led Owia Young Strikers’ victory charge, crossing the line at 85 for 1 in 10.2 overs.
