Victors One stumble in 20/20 defence

Reigning National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams 20/20 cricket champions Victors One stumbled against Police Two, when the 2018 edition opened last Saturday.Victors One was hemmed in by Police Two, to suffer a six-wicket loss, at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

Victors One posted 137 for 7 from their 18 overs, as the overs saw a reduction because of a late start.

The main contributors for Victors One were Miles Bascombe with 32, Donwell Hector, 26 and Alston Bobb, 22.

Bowling for Police Two, Sylvan Spencer took 2 for 14, Kevin Abraham, 2 for 28 and Romario Bibby, 2 for 32.Marshalled by Desron Maloney, who laced 91, Police Two reached 140 for 4 from 16.2 overs. Andrew Thomas helped Police Two’s cause with 26.

Also triumphant on the opening day were French Verandah RW Sporting World SVG Community College and Police One.The SVG Community College smothered Prime Consulting Marriaqua by 107 runs, at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field.Zivron Walker scored 68 and Alex Samuel, 64, to be the main stay of the SVG Community College’s total of 217 for 7 from their 20 overs.Travis Cumberbatch, with 3 for 24, was Marriaqua most successful bowler.

Cumberbatch then struck his team topscore of 34, but that was insufficient, as Marriaqua’s fell for 110 all out in 16 overs.Doing the damage with the ball for the SVG Community College, were Dillon Douglas, who had 3 for 30, Aleon Caesar, 2 for 11 and Reynoldson Hillocks, 2 for 16.

And, Police One got easy points from Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO, who failed to show when play was called at the Stubbs Playing Field.
