Casmond Walters beams in Premier Division cricket’s weekend

Walters grabbed 6 for 17, as North Leeward were shot out for 105 from 30. 1 overs, at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field. Elron Lewis was North Leeward’s top scorer with 54.

Walters then lashed 12 fours and 9 sixes in his 119, Roneil Jeffrey, 52 and there were 40 extras in Team Rivals response of 299 all out in 48.1 overs.

Vidal Edwards had 3 for 35, Kevin Small, 3 for 59 and Shammon Hooper, 2 for 64, bowling for North Leeward.

With a deficit of 194, North Leeward reached 218, batting a second time. Leshawn Lewis led with 89 and Shammon Hooper, 37.

The lead bowlers for Team Rivals were Rasheed Fredericks, 4 for 55 and Walters, 4 for 59.

Team Rivals easily reached the 23 needed, making 26 for 1 in 2.5 overs.

Meanwhile, at the Sion Hill Playing Field, defending champions FLOW Radcliffe were stopped by Victors One.

Radcliffe’s first innings total of 153 from 40.2 overs had Swayne Harper top scoring with 24, as Alson Bobb and Norlan James snared 4 for 34 and 3 for 20, respectively.

Victors One, though, fared worse, being dismissed for 95 in 45.5 overs. Atticus Browne’s 34 was the lone score of note, as Dyke Cato bossed his team’s bowling, taking 7 for 35.

Radcliffe, in their second innings, scored 106 for 7 declared, with Romano Pierre scoring 51.

Alston Bobb was again among the wickets, bagging 4 for 54 and Ray Jordan had 3 for 12.

Set 165 to win, Victors One reached the target for the loss of two scalps. Miles Bascombe made 69, Atticus Browne, 60 and Chrisroy John, 27 not out.

And at Park Hill, Police Two stayed ahead of the pack, as they convincingly thrashed Guardian General Saints by nine wickets.

Saints were uprooted for 58, as Darius Martin, 5 for 26 and Beniton Stapleton, 4 for 15, did the damage with the ball.

Sylvan Spencer scored 30, when Police Two responded with 144.

Teron Simon took 3 for 29, Ray Charles, 2 for 17, Kelon Davis, 2 for 15 and Kimali Williams, 2 for 32, bowling for Saints.
