Lower Questelles wear South Leeward village football crown
Lower Questelles earned a hard-fought one-nil triumph over Roucha Bay, to secure the title of champions of South Leeward champion of champions Inter-village Football Competition.
The final was contested at the Campden Park Playing Field.
The winning goal was scored by Avazinni Victory in the first half of the match.
Both teams, though, were guilty of squandering chances, which could have resulted in a different scoreline.
At the short presentation that followed the final, Lower Questellesâ Shaielle Williams was rewarded with a trophy, for being the lone female to score in the competition.
Williamsâ moment of glory came when she netted one of three goals for her team, a in 3-0 win for Lower Questelles over the potent Clare Valley outfit.
Each of the competing teams had to have a female on the field, or play with one fewer.
An undertaking of the South Leeward Sports Association, the competition also saw participation from Sandy Gully, Top Questelles and Top Campden Park.
