Greiggs Softball Cricket Competition skips rain

Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem, Country Meet Town Outa Trouble Street Fighters and RSVG Police were triumphant in last weekend’s St Vincent Brewery/ FLOW/ Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem Greiggs Softball Cricket Competition, at the Greiggs Central Playing Field, which was truncated by rain.

On Saturday, host Nar Fren Dem beat Warriors CC by 46 runs. Batting first, Nar Fren Dem scored 140/ for 5 in their 17 overs. Ceon Phillips continuing his good form top scored with 45 and Kenford Collins stroked 43 not out.

Bowling for Warriors CC, Danroy Currency had 2/26.

But Warriors CC buckled to be dismissed for 94 in 12.1 overs, despite Shammon Hooper’s 55.

Keno Matthews was Nar Fren Dem’s most successful bowler, taking 3/13.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Outa Trouble defeated Log Enterprise Supreme Strikers by six wickets.

Supreme Strikers – 82 in 17.1 overs; Darren John led with 31. Kenron Williams took 3/17.

Outa Trouble responded with 83/4 in 9.4 overs. Asif Hooper- 41, while Raffique Browne had bowling figures of 2/12.

Also on Sunday, Street Fighters bettered Fully Loaded by 84 runs.

Led by Lenroy Dalzell’s 91, Street Fighters posted 175/7 from 17 overs.

Bowling for Fully Loaded, Javil Harry had 3/18. Fully Loaded packed in at 91 in 12.3 overs.

Javil Harry added 37 with the bat to complement his bowling, while Lenroy Dalzell was also all-round, taking 3/14.

Similarly, RSVG Police backed off Extreme Strikers by six wickets.

Extreme Strikers scored 76/6 from their 15 overs; Kevin Johnson made 34, with Kenroy Martin grabbing 3/6.

Desron Maloney then belted 50 not out, to steer RSVG Police to 77/4. Darius Thomas, bowling for Extreme Strikers, had 2/18.

One match was rained out last weekend and would have brought together Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz and Hard Hitters and will be rescheduled.

Matches continue this weekend, with Bank of SVG All Starz meeting  Warriors CC, from 2:30 p.m., on Saturday.

On Sunday, from 10 a.m., Fully Loaded play Shop for Less Clinchers #2, while from 12:30 p.m., Caesar’s Defenders face Log Enterprise Supreme Strikers and RSVG Police meet Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem from 3 p.m.
