Bentick slams ton in TBPO Softball Cricket Competition

Rawdon Bentick powered his way to 107, to lead New Level to 218 for 7 from their 20 overs versus Snipers last Sunday at the Dauphine Playing Field, as the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organization (TBPO) 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition got into full swing.

Aiding Bentick’s knock was Kenneth Lewis, who struck 32. Bowling for Snipers, Tumar Jack took 4 for 20.

In reply, Snipers reached 43 all out in 9 overs, as Collin Lee’s 4 for12, Justin Lee’s 3 for 14 and Kenneth Lewis’ 2 for 9 ensured that their team won by a whopping 175 runs.

It was another run glut in Sunday’s second match, as Band of SVG All Starz defeated Full Click by 162 runs.

All Starz batted first and made 188 for 6 in 20 overs. Kelly Murray who scored 36, Asquith Mapp, 32, Nyron Da Souza, 30 and Glenroy Dasent, 29, all cashed in on Full Click’s bowling.

Wesley Bonadie, with 2 for 26 and Leo Barbour, 2 for 56, were Full Click’s most successful bowlers.  

The bowling combination of Dwayne Williams, who took 3 for 6, Desmond Bramble, 2 for 6 and Kelly Murray, 2 for 10, sent Full Click back to the hutch for 26 all out in 11.3 overs.

More ball beating was to take place when Sion Hill Tallawahs met Dr Thomas Injectors in Sunday’s final match.

Sion Hill Tallawahs batted first and got to 215 for 5 in 20 overs.  

Erwin Williams led with 72, with support coming from Shamic Roberts, 42, Shawn Williams, 33 and Kirwin Williams, 30.

Bowling for Injectors, Quesnel Cottoy took 2 for 17.

Dr Thomas Injectors resistance stopped at 99 all out in 18 overs. Ronick Daniel made 27, while bowling for Sion Hill Tallawahs, Marlon Baptiste bagged 4 for 24, Kenson Dalzel, 2 for 19 and Stanley Lavia, 2 for 20, to win by 116 runs.

And, CGM Gallagher Novice won by 40 runs over Stingers in Saturday’s lone fixture.

Novice, led by Casmond Walters’ 68 and Elton John’s 36, rattled up 159 for 6 in 20 overs.

Bowling for Stingers, Jayvon Jack had 4 for 29, with Kemron John scoring 24.

Casmond Walters crowned off a good all-round performance, taking 3 for 19, with Everton Durrant and Shirlon Pompey both taking 2 for 13.
