Sugar Reef Bequia United take Bequia 20/20 cricket title
Sugar Reef Bequia United had a sweet victory last Sunday at the Clive Tannis Playing Field, in the Bequia Premier League 20/20 Cricket Competition.
Bequia United scored 164 all out from their 20 overs; Jenry Ollivierre scored 30, Rickford Walker, 29 and Chelson Stowe, 28.
Bowling for Monica Cash and Carry Port Elizabeth, Romano Warren had 3 for 44 and there were two wickets each for Ormond Billingy, Aaron Friday and Rohan Blake.
In reply, Monica Cash and Carry Port Elizabeth fell for 132, with Imran Smith leading the way with 44 and Kenrick Cozier, 21.
Chelson Stowe picked up 3 for 21, bowling for Bequia United.
In the third place play-off, which preceded the final, Friendship United condemned multiple winners of the competition Knights Trading Aussies by three wickets.
Oswald Soleyn struck an even 50, while Razine Browne hit 43, to see the Aussies to 187. Vernardo Primus was Friendship Unitedâs best bowler, taking 3 for 34.
Friendship United responded with 188 for 7. Verden Baptiste scored 63, James Hoyte, 30 and Alrick Pompey, 29.
Dean Browne had 2 for 23 and Razine Browne 2 for 27.
The presentation ceremony is set for this Sunday, also at the Clive Tannis Playing Field.
