Team Rivals add woes to struggling ASCO

Team Rivals swatted Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO by an innings and Guardian General Saints took first innings honours from FLOW Radcliffe, in the two matches played last weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division of the national cricket programme.

Team Rivals continued the misery of ASCO at the Park Hill Playing Field and taking first strike, ASCO was run over for 87 in 18. 5 overs. Extras, 21 and Calroy Jordan, 20, were the significant contributors to ASCO’s total.

Bowling for Team Rivals, Roneil Jeffrey had 3 for 7, Olanzo Jackson, 2 for 3 and Obed Mc Coy, 2 for 30.

Team Rivals then went about in blasting ASCO’s bowling, to tally 278 all out in 46.1 overs.

Leading the reply was Roneil Jeffrey, who struck 3 fours and 5 sixes in his 65; Rasheed Frederick’s 60 saw him lashing 8 fours and 2 sixes, while Obed Mc Coy bludgeoned 6 sixes and 1 four and Randel Williams blasted 5 fours and a six in his 38.

Konnard Adams picked up 4 for 66, Kelshun Da Silva, 3 for 70 and Anthonio Barker, 2 for 52.

Batting a second time, ASCO was shot out for 72 in 16.3 overs. Kelshun Da Silva stroked 46, while Asif Hooper took 4 for 31 and Olanzo Jackson, 3 for 29, as Team Rivals won by an innings and 119 runs.

At Sion Hill, Saints, after being inserted by Radcilffe, scored 130 in 30 overs. Topping the batting was Seon Sween, who registered 49.

The most successful bowler for Radcliffe was Delorn Johnson who snared 4 for 34 and Dyke Cato had 3 for 30.

Radcliffe’s response halted at 112 all out in 26. 4 overs. Delorn Johnson hit a typical knock of 49, dotted with 3 fours and 5 sixes and Marcus Castello hit 2 fours and 3 sixes in his 28.

Travis Cumberbatch with 4 for 43 and Sunil Ambris, 3 for 30, were the Saints’ main wicket takers.

Saints were 53 for 2 when play ended.

Despite, losing on first innings, Radcliffe heads the table with 87 points from six matches; Team Rivals are on 77 points from five matches and Saints, 75 points from 6 matches.

Police Two, 74 from 5; Victors One, 38 from 4; and ASCO, 19 from six.

Two matches are set for this weekend, with Team Rivals and Victors One squaring off at Sion Hill, and at Park Hill, Police Two oppose Radcliffe.
