Guy takes Grassroot Tennis Club Top 16 title

It required a tie-breaker for Akeem Guy to win the CK Greaves/Lewis Pharmacy Grassroot Tennis Club’s Top 16 tennis title.

Staged at the historic Grand View Tennis Court at Villa, Guy stopped Khir Huggins 11-9 in the tie-breaker.

Guy had to dig deep after losing the first set 7-5, but recharged to take the second at 6-4. The two had tied it up at 4-4, thus sending the outcome to a tie-breaker.

For winning the title, Guy inked his name on the challenge trophy, while taking home the first place trophy.

Huggins, for his efforts, was awarded the second place trophy. Both were presented with cash awards.
