Hope International, Avenues remain unbeaten in national football premiership

Guardian General Hope International and Avenues United remain the two unbeaten teams in the National Club Championships, conducted by the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation.

Hope International inflicted a 4-3 defeat on the previously unbeaten System Three on Saturday at the Brighton Playing Field. System Three are the 2016 champions.

The win by Hope International put their points tally to 9, from five matches.

The other unbeaten team in the table, which contains 12 units, Avenues United drew 1-1 with BESCO Pastures last Sunday at the Layou Playing Field.

Avenues now have 9 points, also from five matches.

Bequia United, which remained idle on the weekend, stays on top of the pile with 13 points from their six matches (four wins, one loss and one draw).

Like Bequia United, SV United was not engaged last weekend and hold down the second spot with 10 points from six matches.

While both Hope International and Avenues are on 9 points, Avenues, however, possess a superior goal differential.

Rounding off the top five places are System Three and Sion Hill, both on 7 points. Sion Hill had a hard fought 2-1 win over Richland Park Pride and Joy on Sunday at the Brighton Playing Field.

System Three, though, has played four matches to Sion Hill’s five.

Je Belle have 6 points from 4 matches, while BESCO Pastures have 5 points from four matches.

Campdonia–Chelsea, who lost to Greiggs 1-3 on Sunday at the Chili Playing Field, remain on 4 points, but from four matches. Greiggs have 4 points, but from six matches.

The rest of the table sees Richland Park Pride and Joy on 3 points from six matches and Volcanoes, 2 points from four matches.
