Injectors upstage Outa Trouble One in PCCU softball cricket

Dr Thomas Injectors sedated defending champions of the SVG Police Cooperative Credit Union Clinchers Softball Cricket Competition – Country Meet Town Outa Trouble One, last Sunday morning at the Richland Park Oval.

Damion Allen had the right prescription with both ball and bat.

Outa Trouble One was bowled out for 90 in 17.5 overs, with Allen taking 4 for 15 from 3.5 overs.

Allen then smashed 69, with eight sixes and three fours, to help Dr Thomas Injectors to 95 for 2 in 9.5 overs and victory by eight wickets.

Outa Trouble was hyperactive, following their win on Saturday, when they had plucked Gairy Construction Stingers by six wickets.

Stingers scored 86 in 19 overs; Adonis Nanton hit 38, including 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Kenran Williams took 4 for 24, bowling for Outa Trouble One.

In reply, the competition’s title holders scored 88 for 4, in 12.3 overs. Asif Hooper‘s 31 not out included 4 fours and a six, while Mickel Mapp hit 3 sixes and a four in his 23.

Also winning on Sunday were Calder United and Street Fighters.

Calder United further discounted Shop for Less Nice Radio Clinchers Two in a six-wicket triumph.

Clinchers Two was cornered for 65 for 6 off 20 overs; Calder United then rushed to 66 for 4 off 10 overs.

And, Street Fighters had RSVG Police on a wild goose chase in the field, romping to 184 for 5 in their 20 overs. Sean Greaves slammed 59, in which he counted five fours and four sixes, while Ricoldo Thomas contributed 38 and Ozzni Billingy, 34.

Rohan Howard ended with 3 for 11 for the lawmen.

When RSVG Police were asked to plead their case, they were short of batting evidence, and were dismissed for 72 in 16.3 overs.

Ricoldo Thomas was the star witness with the ball, taking 3 for 8.

Damion Allen, for his 4 for 11 and his knock of 69, was adjudged Player of the Week.
