Novice slam Smart Strikers in TBPO Softball Cricket

CGM Gallagher Novice stopped Smart Strikers by eight wickets last Sunday at the Dauphine Playing Field, in the most commanding win on the weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organization’s 20/20 Soft-ball Cricket Competition.{{more}}

Smart Strikers, batting first, scored 75 for 8 in 15 overs. Havan Smart made 26 and Roderick Pompey 18; Shamic Roberts took 3 for 15, Nolan Williams 3 for 16 and Newborn Joseph 2 for 14.

Novice then sauntered to 77 for 2 in 16.3 overs. Shamic Roberts followed up his bowling efforts to top score with 34 not out.

Before them on Sunday, rain stopped play with Bank of SVG All Starz on 65 for 2 from 9.2 overs. Kelly Lorraine had scored 29 and Keon Boyea – 26.

Saturday’s two matches resulted in wins for Computec Older Boys over Richmond Hill United and Nice Radio Clinchers won by default from Carriere Blazers.

Older Boys’ win was by a six-wicket margin.

Richmond Hill United’s 99 all out from 12 overs saw Courtney Joyette top scoring with 25, while Sylvannus Morgan grabbed 3 for 27 and Rohan King – 2 for 34, bowling for Older Boys.

In reply, Older Boys reached 99 for 4 in 18.3 overs; Curtis King made 40.(RT)
