Vincy Masters take gold in Diamond football

One of the favourites with spectators at the venue, the younger edition of Vincy Masters had it all their way in a lopsided affair.
Vincy Masters ended another successful season, losing one match in the preliminary phase.
It also meant a good outing for Roy Marshall, who has progressed from player to manager/coach and has moulded his team into a winning unit in this competition for the second time running.
Before meeting SV United in Sundayâs final, Vincy Masters had a 3-1 win over South Rivers in their semi-final match-up, while SV United overcame Youngsters FC in kicks from the penalty spot, after both teams had played to a 2-2 all tie.
For their efforts, Vincy Masters collected the winnerâs purse of $2,000, along with the challenge trophy and the first place piece of silverware.
SV United gained $1,000 and a trophy, while Youngsters FC, for placing third got $500.
The individual awards saw Juma Gilkes of Vincy Masters taking the trophy for Most Goals for his 10 goals.
South Riversâ Delroy Peters was adjudged Best Defender and Chavel Cunningham of Youngsters FC â Best Midfielder.
And, Owia United got the nod from the adjudicators for being the Most Disciplined Team.(RT)
