Black Sands Swim Squad takes spoils in invitational meet
It was another dominating performance by the Black Sands Swim Squad, as they bossed the Scotia Bank Invitational Swim Meet, held last Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre at Ratho Mill.
Fielding the largest pool of swimmers, Black Sands topped the points standings ahead of Blue Marlins, the Bequia United Swim Club and the Dolphins Swim Club of Grenada.{{more}}
Apart from the team title, Black Sands bulked the individual awards.
Black Sands took the female Under-6 through Eltonique Leonard, while Tia Gun-Munro topped the female 9 to 10 age category.
Black Sandsâ pair of Paige Cadogan and Alex Joachim swam off with the 11- 12, males and females titles, respectively.
Similarly, Black Sands held both titles in the 13 to 14 age group, with Ria Adams securing the female title and Shane Cadogan â the male awardee.
Another all Black Sands trip to the top of the podium came in the females and males 15 and over segment. Kaylah Ollivierre was the female champion and Nikolas Sylvester â the top male performer.
Blue Marlins Swim Clubâs trio of Kennice Greene, Brandon George and Tristan Ballah showed their skills to spoil the Black Sandsâ monopolisation of the event. Greene took the female 7 to 8 age group and George â the male award for that age group, and Ballah was the top swimmer in the male 9 to 10 segment.(RT)
