Team Rivals stay in command in T/20 march

It was another commanding performance by Team Rivals, the reigning champs of the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams Twenty/20 Cricket Competition.

Last Sunday at the Arnos Vale One venue, Rivals stormed past the Bequia Cricket Association by eight wickets.{{more}}

Bequia posted 156 for 3 off 19 overs, with Dean Browne making 65 not out and Razine Browne – 32 not out.

Rivals replied with 157 for 2 in 13.5 overs. Marvin Small, 66 not out, Asif Hooper, 41 and Casmond Walters, 26 not out, were the main contributors.

Also at the same venue, Lime Radcliffe beat Police Two by 54 runs.

Lime Radcliffe registered 179 for 7 off 20 overs; Rodney Lawrence made 52, Delorn Johnson – 41 and Lindon James – 28.

Bowling for Police Two, Darius Martin took 2 for 28.

Police Two in reply were shackled for 125 for 8 in 20 overs, with Salvan Browne striking 38 and Gosnel Cupid, 36.

The lawmen’s batting could not cope with the bowling of Delorn Johnson – 3 for 13 and Dyke Cato – 3 for 30.

At Arnos Vale Two Combined Youths registered a three-wicket win over French Verandah SVG Community College.

SVG Community College scored 105 all out in 18 overs; Tijourn Pope made 30.

Bowling for Combined Youths, Geron Wyllie picked up 3 for 5 and Oneal Endeavour, 3 for 12.

Combined Youths, in reply, made 108 for 7 off 16 overs; Ricky Hunte got 29.

Jeremy Layne, 3 for 19, Ronaldo Franklyn, 2 for 14 and Akeel Jack, 2 for 25, shared the bowling spoils for SVG Community College.

The other fixture at Arnos Vale resulted in The News Spartans defeating iShallz Byam’s Physical Therapy by 66 runs.

Spartans put together 145, with Kissinger Mc Lean blasting 39.

iShallz Byam Physical Therapy crashed to 79 all out. Courtney Davy, with 3 for 4, was the pick of Spartans’ bowling.

And at Sion Hill, Victors One had the better of Radcliffe Too by 97 runs.

Sent in to take first knock, Victors One, on the back of Lauron Francois’ 58, Keron Cottoy’s 30 and Miles Bascombe’s 23, got up to 157 for 7.

Alson Caine, with 4 for 34, was Radcliffe Too’s most successful bowler, but they were bundled out for 60 in 14.3 overs.

Kimson Dalzell snared 4 for 6 and Ray Jordan 3 for 8, bowling for Victors One.

This weekend’s fixtures see another eight matches carded.

Saturday’s schedule pit ASCO versus SVG Community College at Sion Hill from 10 a.m., with Spartans facing Victors Two at that venue from 2 p.m., and at Arnos Vale Two, Lime Radcliffe engage iShallz Byam’s Physical Therapy.

On Sunday, from 10 a.m., Triumph United oppose Bequia Cricket Association at Sion Hill; Police Two face off with Team Rivals at Arnos Vale Two.

Police One take on Northern Stars from 2 p.m. at Sion Hill; Victors One come up against SVG Community College at Arnos Vale Two and Guardian General Saints meet Combined Youths at Arnos Vale One.(RT)
