But that was not the case in the girlsâ segment, as Aliyah John of the Girlsâ High School defeated Vedel Charles of the St Josephâs Convent Kingstown 3-0 (11/7, 11/4, 13/11).
In the primary schools open singles girls finals, Leah Cumberbatch of the Kingstown Preparatory School ousted Zola Fraser of the Gomea Methodist School 2-0 (11/9, 11/3) and in the primary school open singles boys finals, Renson Sayers of the Brighton Methodist got the better of his school mate Kelroy Phillips 11/9, 11/5.
Leah Cumberbatch was voted the Most Valuable Player for the primary school girls, Renson Sayers MVP for the primary boys and Andre Mitchell MVP for the secondary boys.
The St Vincent Grammar School overpowered the West St George Secondary 3-1 to take the secondary schoolsâ male team title, with Bishopâs College Kingstown â third and the St Martinâs Secondary â fourth.(RT)
