Young Strikers eyeing three-peat in Greiggs Softball

Owia Young Strikers, Clinchers and Top Shottaz Squady were all winners in the latest round of matches in the Hairoun Brewery, Sea Operations SVG Ltd, Courtesy Sports, Nar Fren Dem Greiggs Twenty/20 Softball Cricket competition, played at Greiggs Central.{{more}}

Seeking to make it three titles on the trot, defending champions Owia Young Strikers could only register a tight two-wicket win at the expense of Dr Thomas Injectors.

Injectors had batted first and made 107 for 5 in their 20 overs; Kelron Ashton top scored with 39.

Owia Young Strikers replied with 110 for 8 in 15 overs. Denson Hoyte made 34, while Kelroy Ashton took 2 for 18.

Clinchers overcame Better Brand Distributors Enterprise by 34 runs.

Clinchers made 140 runs for six in their 20 overs. Brent Saunders top scored with 35, not out. Yonel Johnson took 2 for 29 and Keithlyn Williams 2 for 37, bowling for Better Brand Distributors Enterprise, who were dismissed for 107 in 15.1 overs. Israel Baptiste made 21.

Marlon Farrell grabbed 2 for 11 and Desron Spring – 2 for 36, to lead Clinchers’ win.

And, Top Shottaz Squady did not have to sweat, as they won by default from Panthers.(RT)
