Under-20 female footballers to meet regional heavyweights
St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ Under-20 female footballers head to Haiti next month, where they will face off with powerhouses Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica, along with Curacao in Group B of the Caribbean Football Unionâs final stage.{{more}}
The Vincentians play Jamaica â October 15, Trinidad and Tobago â October 17 and Curacao â October 19.
Group A of the final round is composed of Bermuda, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and host Haiti.
The two top teams in each of the groups advance to the semi-final stage, with the two triumphant semi-finalists squaring off in the championship match.
St Vincent and the Grenadines, under head coach Alnif Williams, reached this stage as one of the best second places in the first stage of competition.
When the group was hosted here in July, the Vincentian lasses were defeated 2-0 by Trinidad and Tobago, but beat Dominica 3-1 on home soil at the Victoria Park.
Trinidad and Tobago topped the group, handing Dominica a six-nil drubbing.
St Vincent and the Grenadines, in recent days, has intensified its preparations for what is expected to be a tough task for the young female footballers.(RT)
