Owia Young Strikers win in Greiggs Softball Cricket

Reigning champions of the Hairoun Brewery, Sea Operations SVG Limited, Courtesy Sports, Nar Fren Dem Greiggs T20 Softball Cricket competition – Owia Young Strikers – are among the winners in the latest round of competition.{{more}}

Young Strikers’ 54-run triumph came against Bank of SVG All Starz.

Batting first, Owia Young Strikers posted 143 for 7 in their 20 overs. Rolando Wright top scored with 33 not out.

Bowling for All Starz, Glenroy Dasent took 3 for 23 and Kelly Murray had 3 for 25.

In response, All Starz was dismissed for 90 in 11.4 overs. Zimroy Baptiste had figures of 4 for 22 and Dill Clarke – 3 for 26.

The batting of former winners RSVG Police took a liking to Attackers’ bowling, chalking up 229 all out in their 20 overs. Leading the charge was Roderick John, who blasted 63.

Lenroy James, with 4 for 25, proved to be Attackers’ most successful bowler.

In their reply, Attackers were restricted to 118 for 4, batting all 20 overs, as Police won by 111 runs.

Edson Browne was Attackers’ main contributor with 32.

Likewise, Sion Hill Tallawahs had an 85-run win over Log Enterprise Supreme Strikers.

Sion Hill Tallawahs batted first and made 154 all out in 18.3 overs. Shamic Roberts top scored with 87. Handel Antoine took 3 for 13, bowling for Supreme Strikers, who, when they batted, made 70 all out.

Only Littron Cockburn’s 21 was any score of note, as Kirton Lavia snared 3 for 9. And, Clinchers registered a 20-run win at the expense of Smashers.

Clinchers batted first and made 114 for 9 from the maximum 20 overs, with Oheyon Toby making 29.

Linton Peters took 2 for 13 for Smashers, who were routed for 94 in 16.4 overs, at their turn at the crease. Glenford Woodley struck 37, as Peter Richards picked up 3 for 21, bowling for Clinchers.(RT)
