RSVG Police bracing in North Leeward cricket

Reigning champions of the Vinlec North Leeward Twenty/20 Cricket Competition RSVG Police kept a clean charge sheet last Sunday at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.{{more}}

Coming up against the Petit Bordel Secondary School, Police were unchallenged by their opponents and won by five wickets.

The schoolboys batted first and were dismissed for 99 off 16.5 overs. Cylon Mc Kie top scored with 33.

Kenneth Dember bagged 5 for 7 for Police, who then replied with 100 for 5 off just nine overs. Mc Leon Williams hit 26. Jadiel Chance took 3 for 19, for Petit Bordel Secondary School.

Others recording victories were Circumstance, Carlos James Peto Stars and Robertson Surveying Future Legend. Circumstance defeated North Stars by eight wickets on Saturday.

North Stars compiled 152 for 3 off 15 overs, led by Lindon James – 53, Elron Lewis – 36 and Delorn Johnson – 30.

Responding, Circumstance made 156 for 2 off 14 overs; Omar Tucker top scored with 62 not out, Hank Hall, 36 not out and Desron Maloney, 30.

Also, Carlos James Peto Stars had the better of Carlos James Rose Bank by 16 runs, in Saturday’s other fixture.

Vidal Edwards stroked 64, Ronique La Borde, 44 and Shammon Hooper, 43, to lead Peto Stars to 205 for 5 from their 20 overs. Keiron Caesar, with 3 for 27, was Rose Bank’s most successful bowler.

In their run chase, Rose Bank crashed to 189 all out off 19.2 overs, William Edwards hit 35.

Bowling for Peto Stars, Ranjel Small, Kesrick Westfield, Shammon Hooper and Ronique La Bordel all took two wickets each.

And on Sunday, Robertson Surveying Future Legends beat Ajuba by three wickets.

Batting first, Ajuba tallied 155 for 9 off 20 overs, Harley Skerritt, 50 and Walliston Stapleton, 33, were the principal scorers.

There were two wickets each for Benniton Stapleton, Shangi John and Veonson Stapleton.

Future Legends replied with 156 for 7 off 19.2 overs.

Their response was crafted by Elmore Robertson, 27, Calvert Wyllie, 25, Rajiv Robertson, 22 and Winston Samuel, 21 not out, and most significantly there were also 49 extras.(RT)
