The SVGFF, through its president Venold Coombs, had indicated at a press conference recently that the hosting of the championships would take place depending on the availability of the Victoria Park.
He also noted that the championships would have proceeded despite his executive making an effort to hold the workshops needed to bring the clubs up to speed about the licensing procedures and requirements.
The opening of the club championships comes smack in the middle of a hectic football period, as the senior national menâs team, Vincy Heat, is set to engage Aruba, September 4 here at the Arnos Vale Playing Field in the first leg of the third round of the CONCACAF Zone of the World Cup qualifiers.
Set to take place as planned, there would be two opening matches: one in the Under-17 Division and the other in the First Division.
However, the Premier Division and the Womenâs Division are slated for commencement sometime in September.
A release from the SVGFF has said that registration forms are available at the office, with the deadline for registering clubs August 19.
Hope International won the 2014 premier division; Greiggs â the First Division, Richland Park Pride and Joy â Under-17 and Campdonia-Chelsea â the womenâs division.
A tournament committee, headed by third vice-president Elroy Boucher, oversees the administration of such championships under the aegis of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation.
