Vincy teams swinging in BCL

Three Vincy outfits contesting the Brooklyn Cricket League in New York trumped last Saturday, May 29.

Former skipper Mark Audain slammed 104, which consisted of sixteen fours, while captain Rod Michael struck 81 and David Lewis – 42. Michael’s knock contained 12 fours.

Bowling for Diplomats, Romano Neil took 3 for 49.

In their turn at the crease, Diplomats, playing with only eight men, could only muster 70 for 5, before they crumpled to the pressure and called it quits. Middlesex won by 214 runs.

At Marine Park D, Imperial posted 302 for 7 against Yankees. Hyron Shallow helped himself to 189 and Roy Bryan, 41.

In reply, Yankees were 168 all out. Byron Mars claimed 4 for 51, to see Imperial to a 132-run triumph.

And, Queensbury overcame Pak Brighton by 61 runs at Marine Park B.

Queensbury scored 167 for 9 in 35 overs; Joseph Shortte was 50 not out and Roy Caesar – 35.

Pak Brighton, in response, ended at 106 all out.

All scheduled matches for Sunday were interrupted by rain. In most matches, the points were shared.

On Sunday, Imperial will face St Lucia at Marine Park C, while Middlesex faces Pak Brighton at Seaview.
